New York Times bestselling author, Scarlett Dawn, has created a fresh and magical new adventure for romance and paranormal lovers alike. Shifters rule the world through corporations after the humans all but destroyed Earth. It's too bad humans are still oblivious. They have no clue terrifying beasts run their broken world.

And then along came a human. A beautiful and klutzy human.

She's the trigger the shifters have been waiting for...
But beware of the soul-sucking darkness soon to follow.

My Opinion

Poppy Carvene is caught between a rock and a hard place. Marry the guy her daddy, General of the Liberation Army wants her to marry or runaway and join the Corporation Army. The Army her daddy is 100% against. The same army with a death clause in the contract for basic training. The army that needs parental approval or else ten years in prison. Shifters are kept hidden from the human world. The last six mated pairs have been tainted and the king, Godric must figure out why. Godric also has the Corporate Army to run and a human has finally turned his head after over a 100 years.

Poppy is fierce, enthusiastic and confident. Just the type of character you want to read about. No whining instead she kicks butts and smashes heads. When life or the law decided that something must happen she agrees only once she makes her own path. Reading how she goes about making her own way is a roller coaster ride that you will not want to get off.

Godric does not want a mate. He is attracted to Poppy and wants to protect her yet he lets her make her own decisions. As king of the shifters he has the weight of the world on his shoulders, he handles it really well. Pretty much he is the book boyfriend of the year for me.

Trigger is just what I needed to help me jump back on the paranormal romance bandwagon. The perfect starter to a fresh new series. It does not disappoint. Fair warning thought it will leave you wanting more.

My Rating 5 out of 5 stars
